Summary:
Manages daily operational quality activities at the assigned complex.
Responsible for daily monitoring and verifying activities relative to USDA, HACCP, GMP, SSOP, SPC, customer and company requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Supervise activities of the operational quality assurance supervisors and technicians.
Interacts with USDA personnel and customers as directed by senior management.
Helps plan, organize, and implement HACCP protocol testing.
Responsible for meeting government, customer and company requirements and the reporting of significant events in a timely manner to management.
Helps plan and prepare for plant audits.
Assists with product recalls and dispositioning events.
Responsible for all directives brought forth by senior management.
This is a safety sensitive position.
Supervisory
Responsibilities:
Manages two Quality Supervisors who supervise a total of 28 employees in the Quality Department.
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a science related field from a four-year college or university; and four to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Payroll Assurance; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
HACCP, GMP, SSOP and SQF certifications.
Must have a valid driver's license and must be able to qualify for the company driver program.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
